#FitnessFriday Ι Standing Hip Flexor Stretch

Posted in Instructional Videos

Today's Fitness Friday features the Standing Hip Flexor Stretch.

About the Standing Hip Flexor Stretch

Hip flexors are hardworking muscles that are crucial in foundational movements such as sitting, standing, walking and running — they act as a bridge connecting your torso to your lower body. The Standing Hip Flexor Stretch is effective to stretch the group of muscles that flex the hip joint.

Benefits

This exercise assists with improving hip flexors and general hip mobility. This can be a great option if you are not able to lunge on the ground.

Written Instructions

  1. Place one foot on an elevated step with both feet facing forward.
  2. Slowly lunge over the front foot, keeping the heel on the box.
  3. Hold for approximately one to two seconds before backing out of the stretch.
  4. Repeat 2 sets of 10 both sides.
